The Market Menu

The Market menu has proved to be a popular innovation, offering three courses for €35, four courses for €45 or five courses for €50, of seasonal ingredients, with several choices at each course. These include salads garnished with fresh herbs from the Restaurant’s own herb garden, Gozo vegetable soups, cured local fish, an array of pasta dishes, including house-made ravioli, and, for main courses, grilled fish and meat for warmer weather and heartier dishes for winter. In similar vein, for a fixed price of €35, guests can choose the four course Maltese menu. This is a favourite not only with visitors to Gozo, but also for locals, who no longer have time to cook such dishes, who were never taught them by their mother. This is authentic Maltese food served in the traditional way drawn from the chefs’ family recipes, a real celebration of the culinary heritage of the Maltese islands.

Potato and leek soup with toasted sourdough

Pork tenderloin scaloppini with pan juices, roast potatoes and cider-braised cabbage

Rosemary-marinated roast lamb sirloin with red wine reduction, bacon, white beans, oven roasted potatoes

Coq au vin -seared chicken leg with a mushroom, onion and red wine sauce and herbed basmati rice

Grilled rib eye of Irish beef with French mustard, fried mushrooms and sauté potatoes
